Allow speeding up screen recordings to go faster through boring parts

Hi There. Is there any word on this? I think it's a really important feature. Just to be clear, I mean in editing, being able to take part of a video or a clip and increase the speed. So for example, when I'm demonstrating a video walkthrough of something and am entering information/data as part of the demo, and want to show that data entry sped up. Like in this video someone else posted. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=crRcbp_Ik4s

I want to be able to speed up by 20-30 as well!! Timelapse.
That way when doing tutorials it can be edited easily.

Hey Riley,
Not sure where we haven't given you a response, but sorry for that.
This feature has been requested multiple times already:
Can you clarify which of the two you mean? Speed up videos while watching in the editor, or speeding up parts of the video so you can speed through slow parts.
Both aren't planned yet and I can't tell you yet when they will be. But we'll let you know when it's more clear.

I've asked this twice already and no response. I want to be able to put it in 2x / 3x speed (not to watch) but in the edit. This seems like a basic feature.
Ernst
We need this to edit quickly, please add it soon. 🙏
In FinalCut and others, there are even shortcuts for this: "L" to increase speed to 2x speed, 3x speed, 4x speed etc. and other keys for playing it backwards in the editor.
Verrrry handy for quick editing.
I tried using The Chrome Plugin "Video Speed Controller" to help myself here, but unfortunately the position in the timeline jumps with this method when using the add layout function making it useless... :(
Please put it on the list.
PS: Nice, we have the arrows, to go frame by frame already. :)

Ernst: Hey Ernst, thanks for clarifying. I think your usecase is a third one!
- Adjust playback speed on the view page (we have this already)
- Adjust speed of videos in the video so that you can skip faster through screen recordings (for example).
- Adjust playback speed in the editor (for faster editing)
Let me know if that's indeed what you meant, we'll add it to our list of feedback :)
Ernst
Michiel Westerbeek: I meant no. 3 for faster editing. Do I need to add it as a standalone feature request, so others can vote on it? Funny, how one title can lead to 3 different understandings.
Michiel Westerbeek
Ernst: Yeah if you could make a new one, I'll update this one to be less confusing.

This is needed!

Hey Sebastian Hien, just making sure we're talking about the same things.
When talking to Jeroen, he mentioned this as an editing feature; the ability to speed up videos in the editor (correct me if I'm wrong Jeroen)
What I understand from your comment is the ability to change playback speed in the player (on the final video result), this is already possible in the embed and view page (see attached screenshot).
Is that what you meant? Could you explain what you mean with the vimeo player? Thanks!

Michiel Westerbeek Hi!
We want speed up video while boring staff is happening.
Sebastian Hien
Agree, this was explicitly requested by customers (still using vimeo player)
